Donation & Refund Policy

Thank you for supporting community-led projects across Haiti. This policy explains how donations made through Fondasyon are processed, allocated, and — in limited circumstances — refunded.

1. Nature of Donations

Donations made on Fondasyon are voluntary contributions intended for the specific project you select at checkout. Donations are generally final and non-refundable once processed.

2. How Donations Are Processed

• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Fondasyon does not store full card details.
• You will receive an email receipt for each completed donation.
• Donations are recorded against the project you selected and appear on the project page (anonymously if you so choose).

3. Fees

Stripe charges payment processing fees on each donation. Fondasyon may deduct these fees, plus any disclosed platform fees, before transferring funds to the organizer. The breakdown is shown before you confirm your donation.

4. Allocation of Funds

• Funds are released to organizers based on project milestones and verification.
• If a project does not reach its goal, funds may still be released for partial impact unless otherwise stated on the project page.
• If a project is cancelled, suspended, or found to be fraudulent before funds are released, we will attempt to refund affected donors or reallocate funds to a similar vetted project, at our discretion and with notice where practical.

5. Refund Requests

We will consider refund requests in the following circumstances:

• Duplicate or accidental charge — request within 30 days of the transaction.
• Unauthorized transaction — please contact us immediately and your bank.
• Project removed before funds released — we will refund where feasible.

To request a refund, email donations@notify.www.realizedinsight.com with your donation receipt and the reason for the request. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

6. Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback — most issues can be resolved directly. Chargebacks may result in your account being suspended pending review.

7. Tax Receipts

Email receipts confirm your transaction but should not be treated as official tax deduction documentation unless explicitly stated. Tax treatment of donations depends on the legal status of the project and your jurisdiction. Please consult a tax advisor.

8. Recurring Donations

Where recurring donations are offered, you may cancel future charges at any time from your profile. Cancellation stops future charges but does not refund prior completed donations.

9. Anonymity

You can choose to donate anonymously at checkout. Anonymous donations hide your name from the public project page but are still associated with your account for receipt and compliance purposes.
